Kyoshi – Avatar the Last Airbender

Avatar Kyoshi is a fictional character from the Avatar the Last Airbender universe. She was the avatar two cycles before Aang. She was born in the Earth Kingdom and had a difficult early life. She was orphaned and rescued only to work as a servant to someone else who was assumed to be the avatar. She wasn’t recognized after some chaotic events transpired that changed her life forever. She was notable for her no-nonsense style of handling problems, being extremely tall and living for 230 years. The first I saw of her was obviously through the Avatar the Last Airbender series, but there are also 2 books written about the events I mentioned. She was a total badass and her story is very interesting and full of adventure and suspense. Besides being a powerful female character, she is also openly bisexual, which makes her a wonderfully diverse character.

I grew up watching The Last Airbender series and I immediately fell in love with the characters and universe they created. Although it was created for kids, it still hold up today. Throughout said series, the group is influenced by Kyoshi’s legacy in many ways and I got very excited when they decided to expand the universe and dive into her back story.

The wonderful mix of colors go well with pretty much any room and it looks great hung on the wall and framed. It is guaranteed to be a conversation piece the next time you entertain company.
